And start using one of the "search all craigslist" sites so you can watch the whole country for it to potentially pop up.

Sorry to hear about your loss, Carlos. :x This is a major suck, but to try to put a positive spin on it, here's one instance where being left handed might work to your advantage. That's a pretty unique instrument that would have a hard time hiding, IMO, stickers or not, so I wouldn't be surprised if it shows up in some pawn shop soon. It's highly unlikely someone knew what it was and plans on keeping it.

Good luck and I'll spread the word.

Wow! Very sorry to hear about this Carlos. :x  Will keep my eyes peeled as well. I'm sure you're already doing this but if not, saturate, saturate, saturate the web with as many images and articles about your bass. As you may recall, I did that with my Warwick and I eventually got it back. PJ is right, your bass is totally unique, even without the stickers, so that should help a lot.

Wishing you good luck with getting it back, Carlos. Probably a coupla crackheads who'll dump it at the nearest pawn shop for a quick hundred or so & the old dude in the shop doesn't even realize it's a lefty so it should be easy to pinpoint. Also, if you do an eBay or CL search, don't just search for left/lefty/left handed as these clowns have probably got no idea of orientation & brand & its real worth.

+1! So long as the police have the serial number in a report, you can get it back
once it hits a pawn shop! You can also distribute a flyer with pic & serial to all the
pawn shops in your area. Don't be afraid to offer a reward either ($100 oughta do
it - that is near what a pawn shop would need back for helping out).

I contacted the repairman handling a used bass in the neighborhood and favorite shops.
It's quite rare case that Mike Lull comes into this area, so I think the information is fast and transmitted.

Thanks for all the support, guys. . . No news on this at all.

Although listing this here and other forums is helpful, it also shows when you do a search in Google. If the looters have any kind of brains, they will do a Google search as well to at least see what's the value of the instrument, and by doing that search, they may find all the postings about the stolen bass. . . meaning that they will probably not list it anywhere because they know it's wanted.

At the same time, I can do all kinds of global searches on Craigslist, eBay, etc., but I can't do searches of small pawnshops. Not all pawnshops do business online. Because the looter can potentially be from anywhere in the US, there really is no use in concentrating in the area where it was stolen. There is a policy report in the area and local pawnshops would see this if they receive the bass, but again, this bass could be anywhere in the country.

My prediction is that this bass will be destroyed or thrown away, or will sit in a warehouse or storage for years. We might see it pop up for sale in a few years.

Sad puppy face.

So sorry, Carlos! If you've read my account here about losing my basses to burglars, you know that it IS possible to get them back. Hoping for the best for you!!
