cheap, nice used guitar

Friends,
I am looking for a cheap, playable/player guitar, mainly to teach my son who just started a few months ago.
I bought him a guitar and have been using one of my 5-stringers to teach him, bug now that he is starting to get better it's not that great. If you have any interesting piece of wood in the back of your closet that you are willing to depart with, please hit me. 250-300 is the range I am going for.

Nope.
Sorry, I should have explained better.
He is a righty - I got him a regular guitar. I've been using one of my 5-stringers to teach him, but I wanted a guitar for me so I could show him and he could mirror. In any case I ended up buying a cheap fender strat MIM on eBay.
