EBAY HACKED ALERT

Post by jersey bluesdude »

For any of you that have ebay accounts big news today ebay's site has been hacked. Ebay is recommending all users change their passwords asap. They claim financial info is still secure but all personal info is not. They also claim paypal site is not affected. This has been a public service announcement. http://news.msn.com/science-technology/ ... ing-attack

Here's a little more info on this. Ebay says the hack occurred two months ago and they discovered it a few days ago. Not so sure about financial info and paypal being safe. After all, it took two months to figure out they've been hacked. At the very least, member email addys are surely in hackers hands. Besides changing passwords, (every 3 mos. is good) it's also a good idea to add yourself to your contacts list. Since viruses are spread using your contacts if you ever receive an email from yourself you'll know you have a problem.
