Fender Aerodyne Decent Price

Post by Matt R. »

Slightly banged up, but these are usually a little expensive. If it wasn't basswood, I'd jump on it.

Not sure what you mean by that - perhaps you have too many basswood bodies already? There are a gazillion basswood guitar/bass bodies out there. Literally tens of thousands of Stratocasters are basswood, thousands of basses, too. Nearly all the upper-end Strats and custom Strats are basswood instead of alder. A number of makers still use basswood, although you probably wouldn't know it. They tend to advertise anything not alder or basswood, but they still use those woods. MTD, G&L, etc.

The black binding looks really cool, imho.

I mean I'd prefer it was something other than basswood.

You've had problems with basswood bodies before? Please tell. We all need to know why to avoid it.

He's not telling anyone else to avoid basswood.

Not only has he not stated or implied that at all, he's sharing with others an Ebay listing (of a basswood-bodied bass) he thought others might be interested in.

This is the "Southpaw Spotted" section. Not the "Avoid This Bass" section.

No, and I have no idea why you should avoid it.
