Xotic Lefty Run of 5-string Jazz

Xotic is offering a special run of lefty XJ-1T 5-strings. For those who don't know, these are made in Japan and all the reviews seem pretty impressive. Looks like street price will be $2925 ($3900 retail). I'm not interested because as far as I can read, these all weight 9.5 lb and up to the mid 10s, so that's an instant no-no for me. They did a run of these in black cherry a few month (or years) ago, but now you can choose colors.

I guess we can credit these to the company having operations in Japan. Somebody in there must be a lefty. . .

I have an XJ-1T from the limited run they did in 2010 and they're bad ass for sure. I've been thinking about selling mine though to help fund a dream project, but I'm not quite willing to part with it yet. I may never be, who knows! If I do it will be a steal compared to the new prices. I think those dollars are a little crazy if you ask me.

Not from what I've seen on their website... most righties are going for $3600-3900 on average, so $3900 is fair.... Looks like your only options on the order sheet are for color, and for pickguard, so they're going to be standardized. Still, great bass for a competitive market price. If I had the dough, I'd order; based on my friend's Xotic build, they're top of the shelf!
