I bought this from DrumCity/GuitarLand in CO. Decent lefty selection and great folks. Got a deal too good to pass on. This is the Genesis model, designed by Mike Tobias, which has a graphite 'core' neck wrapped in maple, with chechen fingerboard. It is apparently only available by special order these days- Modulus claims to still make it, but the store said they only build to order in the last year or so. This one was NOS.
The sound is unreal. Very different from what I'm used to (Stingrays)- will take some getting used to (I feel like I'm trying to tame a wild horse!), but probably the cleanest, warmest tone I've heard in any bass except my Roscoe 6. It just occured to me that both my Roscoe and my Modulus have the Barts/NTMB system...that probably makes a huge difference.
Anyway, enough chatter.

- the neck has a "T" shaped graphite core which goes all the way to the end of the headstock, with two maple wings wrapping the back of the neck.

Wow, what a gorgeous instrument!
I would have preferred a darker fingerboard wood (or maple) but other than that, it looks like one hell of a machine!
