That price is asinine; the bass has been irrevocably altered, and I'm pretty sure an unaltered one goes for about 1/3 of that price.

I'd love to hear it, but I agree, the price is way out of line.

I bet it sounds/plays great. I think I'd like it with the extra pickups better than normal. But silly price - I might make an offer at something more reasonable and see what happens.

I think these original SB 1000s have been appreciating in value quite a bit over the past few years. Finding an unaltered lefty in nice condition for $800 would be a major deal these days. I'd say more like $1000-$1200 for a really clean example.

As for this one you guys are right, the collectable value is screwed- but if everything worked as original along with the jazz pups added, man this would be an absolute killer as a player's bass. But apparently the seller can't confirm that all the original electronics are functional- and that should be another significant issue impacting the price/ value. The sound of those original electronics is a big part of what makes these basses special.

This listing was kinda FUBAR. I remember looking all over for my own Aria SB and seeing this as the only one, and becoming furious after seeing the irreversible changes done to it. I got an SB a few months later for a fourth of this price. This listing was kinda crazy.
