Does anyone have experience with the Tech 21 VT Bass pedal? I'm not a pedal guy, but I'm looking for a boost when I use backline gear. I have a 1975 SVT amp with 4 or 8x10s but that doesn't see much action anymore. When I occasionally play out I'm almost always using other folk's gear - sometimes their amp is awesome and sometimes not so much (although I'm always grateful). I'm wondering if the VT Bass pedal will give me the control I want to dial in a thumping sound. I'm planning to take my basses down to the store to try one out but thought I'd ask here as well. Thoughts?

I'd say you can't go wrong. I've been using it for a couple of years now and it's just always on. It really acts more like a preamp for me..

Ringing endorsements from folks I respect. That's a good thing. Almost made it down today but haven't gotten my hands on one yet. Thanks for the input!

But I can't see the pedal settings! :-)

Nice picks.

Does the VT Pedal get close to the Aguilar tone hammer sound, or is it more ampeg svt, or something in between depending on cab and amp?

Necro-bump I know

I just picked one up after giving up on my tone hammer a little while ago.

Much more SVT than Aguilar, possibly not as tonally flexible as the tone hammer but also won't chew through batteries at the same rate.
With the drive and character at full out, it's almost more of a fuzz pedal than over-drive. I'm running mine with the drive at half, and the character setting at 1/4. That gives it nice drive with a bit of a scooped attack.
