My Jazz arrived today. Great bass. And here's a very true depiction of the color. Nothing like the Fender site, but very similar to Candy Apple Red. Just a tiny bit darker. The sparkles are a little more brilliant than a candy finish though. I dig it. It has a mint green guard waiting on it at home.

I didn't realize that I'm in the same boat with the opinion about the maple board being available for us.Graves,Addison and I seem like we'd all grab one if the maple was available. When will Fender realize that options outside of buying a custom shop piece that they'd have our money. And god forbid any other choices like 5 strings or maple boards or block inlays or signature(artist)series basses like the Marcus Miller or Pino Palladino etc....I'm annoyed by their approach to customer service but damn I'm still tempted to buy one.I guess you could always grab a '78 maple board neck off ebay for $1400(that's a joke btw)and pray it fits the neck pocket like a glove.

Count me on the list of those who would immediately shell out the dough to buy a Maple Neck US made Jazz Bass
