I emailed Jimmy C and here's what he said:

The lefty bass is a limited edition spalted alder 5 string with 1960 pickup spacing. It also has a "Jimmy" wood fingerboard which is an exclusive hybrid/cross bread of two different species of Brazilian rosewood. The limited editions are more on the high end, this one sells for $5695.00.

Even if I didn't go on a ridiculous spending spree over the last few months on a ton of new gear, $5695 is pretty rich for my blood... so, with a heavy heart I'll pass this discovery on to one of you, as long as you promise to leave it to me when you die.

Ok, back to being sad again...

Jimmy's Jazz basses are SMOKIN'. Where was that pic from? A trade show? It wasnt NAMM, Jimmy wasnt there... or was he...? Damn! Would have loved to play that one.

The price is expected. 1 guy build, all hand made. His 4 banger that was at NAMM last year was near 5k too. The red lefty. Very cool but yea.... Pricey.
