The 4 screws plate is suspicious.

I had a 72 and the 3 screws was already standard.

It might be the real deal but I' not convinced

Hey Sly,

The 4 screw plate is correct for 74/75 era. My 74/75 Jazz bass had a 4 screw neck plate too. 3 Screw plate were introduced in 75>, not under.

True. My '73 has 4 bolts and both my '75 and '77 have 3 with the micro-tilt thing......

Well I guess I will have to go back to my Fender book.

Thanks for the infos and sorry I misinformed some but I thought the 3 screws were before that.

It is a nice bass but vintage coming out of Europe are kind of expensive do you find?

It's all good. Yea, the recycled lefty parts go into 1975 (4 bolt neck + body). My 74' J was a 74/75 due to dates. Righty 75's were introduced with the 3 bolt/micro tilt...!

And to think back... I traded my '74 Sunburst back in the early 90's for an '86 (black!) Ibanez Sr800.... Wa-Waaaaa...
