Yep! That was a first for me. Open the case on a new lefty bass and be able to play it right away.

Options ordered:
Left-handed
Surf Green
White pickguard
Cream pickup covers
Chrome handrest
Ebony fingerboard
Engraved TRC
Matching headstock
Right-hand stringing

did I ever ask you if you "can" play e-on top as something you can walk into a store and jam more than mary had a little lamb on it?

or would it take a 6pack and a doobie to get that far?

I "can" do that, but it'd probably sound better if anyone listening had "a 6pack and a doobie".

Congratulations! Looks pretty amazing...and unique. I take it that you're happy with how it came out. Just curious -- Anything about it that surprised you?

Being a Carvin fan, I've had a serious case of SB4000 GAS ever since they came out-- and this ain't helping me get over it Ronn. I'm fighting the urge to go to the Carvin site and start filling out an order form...

Man, I love those color choices! I think a 3 ply cream pearloid pickguard would look GREAT with the cream pickup covers and Surf Green finish . Looks like you went with passive electronics, right?

I like the colors, the fact that they made you in "inverted" strung bass, and that they scribed your name into the truss cover... for a big company, they act like a local luthier at times... nice Bass! We're all eagerly awaiting your comments/reviews......

Well, what basses do you need to give up, for say, the $300-$400 range? ;-D

OK, first rehearsal with the new bass last night. I am VERY pleased. Tone is very "J" but much more punchier than my MIM Js. I adjusted exactly nothing, intonation and action were perfect. Balanced output string-to-string.
First gig tonight.
I went with the WBW guard for an old-school look. Passive 'cause I'm not a big fan of active EQ.
I NEEd to take real pics but even then I'm afraid the beauty of this bass won't come thru, it's just purty!
I'm torn between putting flats on, which is my standard string, or sticking with rounds, as it sounds fantastic as-is.
Was a first for me, opening the case of a new bass and being able to play it right outta the box. They didn't even flinch when I asked for righty stringing. And having the handrest straight from the factory is nice, I always have to add them myself.
This was my first Carvin custom order, may not be my last.

And...I went with the cream p/u covers because the whole look of the bass was gonna be "light" except the ebony board. I also chose WBW truss rod cover and white headstock logo.

And....no surprises. The order form is very specific, and they called me to make sure of a couple things before proceeding.
Actually one surprise: It was delivered 2 days before the estimated ship date.

The headstock pic captures the color the best.
