Very cool Alembic Essence

Post by lsimy »

Just helping a good friend at BC move this guy. A very cool bass. Wish I had the cash !!!!! Considering Alembic's price increase over the last year, this is a pretty good deal.

Nice finish on that bass!

But tell me this, when has Alembic ever had a 'not outrageous' price increase?

Does your buddy know the story behind this bass?

It definitely wasn't a stock order so either the guy bailed or the bass came in and wasn't to his specs. I'm guessing maybe someone wanted a "trans black" finish and they ended up with the dreaded "trans-black that looks purple" syndrome?

It's an insanely cool bass... and I actually dig the color... but it's going to be a serious challenge to move a $6600 purple Alembic.

I love it also....but I do not have that level of disposable cashola unless I rob a bank or win the lottery. :)

Absolutely nothing wrong with medium scale 5er. It might be 32" scale.. Not surge but my buddies an endorsed Alembic player and he had a custom 33" scale built and it is sick. The builder (Alembic) is the BEST in the business. They know how to make it right (or left.. haha). Fast easy neck with a thick B. Joe Zon is also experimenting with shorter scale for a number of reasons for his artists. They all figured out how to make it work.

It is such a cool looking bass indeed. Talk to Beaver over at Bass Central. He has more info. We have talked about it before. I do know it is a 32" medium scale 5 and is black not purple. I wish I could swing this one !! Holy cow !

Considering new Alembics approach $8-10K easy, this one looks like a great deal. The chrome over black looks pretty awesome.

Drooooool...
