Explaining the forum name ...

Post by Rodent »

Blueprinting and Bondo? If you've ever been into working on cars, you know that there's really two extremes when it comes to reworking that tired pony. Blueprinting is the high end, where everything is tweaked to obsessive NASCAR perfection. Bondo is the other extreme, where a backyard goober mechanic fills a wrinkle with mud instead of recrafting to original elegance

If you think about it, it's really like the cross section of instrument repairs. some people have an unlimited budget and want to chase their dream to the fullest of what can be done to an instrument. others simply need a cheap fix that will hold them for a couple gigs until they have some cash to fix it right. most repairs and modifications fall somewhere in between the two ends

will my Squire ever become a Fodera? no - but you can sure turn your Fodera into a Squire with a few poorly chosen tools and a lack of know how

until we meet here again -

all the best,

R

Well I got that wrong. I thought your forum name was a play on words reference to Dave Brubeck's, "Blue Rondo a La Turk". Your description is much more interesting, however. ;)
