I'd take a look at the Carvin that Marley's Ghost has for sale in the basses for sale section here: http://leftybassist.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1684

Pretty sweet deal right in your price range and it's pretty lightweight.
Sometimes I think, maybe I'm lucky I'm left handed. If I could play any bass I wanted, my collection would REALLY be out of control.
