Re: Lefty Pickups!!!
Man he wants a lot for those pickups - $550! I sold the pickups out of my 1974 P-bass last year in an eBay auction, and they went for about $145 or so... good luck buddy!

What if you ever decide to part with that bass? Wouldn't it be more desirable to future owners with the original pickups back in place or at least included in the sale?
Re: Lefty Pickups!!!
Never knew there were "lefty" P PUPs. Can't wait to try them out with my recently purchased lefty strings.

Re: Lefty Pickups!!!
But wouldn't that ruin the authenticity & resale value?Took it off an original 1972 left handed precision bass. it will be correct if installed on a right handed bass as well, all you have to do is rewire the leads the opposite way, fairly easy.
BTW- That lefty string stuff is a scam - I've been able to fit righty strings on for months now.
I've also found that if you order lefty guitar straps in bulk you can get a better price break!

With all this sarcasm, I'm not telling you guys where I get my lefty cables from.. :p

Probably same place I get my left picks from...Stingray5 wrote:With all this sarcasm, I'm not telling you guys where I get my lefty cables from.. :p
Re: Lefty Pickups!!!
I'm not the Fender type guy but doesn't the brass plate under the pickups matter if it's a lefty or righty bass? I think the pickups don't matter but the rest of it does maybe?

Re: Lefty Pickups!!!
Before I knew what I had, I replaced the original pickups with Basslines, and eventually traded - straight across! - for a '96 or so Ibanez SR 800, which I still have. I had the pickups in a box, and decided to sell them, as my P-bass was long gone!Jeroen wrote:You what?fivebass52 wrote:I sold the pickups out of my 1974 P-bass![]()

Re: Lefty Pickups!!!
Lefty Pickups.. NOT.
The brass ground plate has the foam glued on for lefty, ground wire reversed... that's it... The pickups do not matter what direction they are. Poles are in the same place. Good price if your wealthy... (**Hey, I spent $550 for left handed pups**) .... Woop!!!!
