Nice! You don't see those every day. I'm not 100% sure the capacitor is original. I had a 1980 Pbass and I seem to recall having a smaller sized Orange drop cap.

And IIRC, Olivia is Duane Allman's widow. Not sure if she's still associated with the business tho. The store used to have one of the best Ric collections on the country, tho I don't know where they are at with that these days.

I think I have seen this one before.

Isn't it a 78 from the serial #?

Agree, I think it was on Ebay before. This Antigua finish is at the same time horrible and incredibly attractive. I love it!

Yeah, Antigua doesn't photograph well at all. But I do like the look of it in person.

Yes, the serial number would date it back to 1978, but necks with S8-serials were used up to the early 80s.
If you scroll down you'll find a picture of the neck heel and neck pocket. Somehow someone at Olivia's deciphered the barely readable stamps and dubbed this an '80 ;)

I remember when the Antigua finish came out, I absolutely hated it.

I also really dig Antigua finish. People tend to either love it or hate it about 50/50, I'm pleased to see there's more fans of it here than not. :)

The past few years I have gone ga-ga over non-typical finishes... especially the really ugly 70's colors like mocha brown and antigua...

Troy Sanders from Mastodon has a Custom Shop P/stacked-J 4-string in silver burst and I frikkin' LOOOOOOOOVE the look of it....

This antigua finish looks like some military equipment used by the Nazi's during the North African campaign. It's so kitsch it's hip.

For me, it all depends on the shade of antigua finish. I like them when they're more on the silvery side, but many yellow over the years and turn to a lovely snot yellowish green.

Here's a lefty '78 Antigua Jazz. Pretty snotty, IMO:
