Ron, thanks for the pics, the job looks superb, and quite a bit cheaper than Pat Wilkins (not implying he is expensive or not worth the money, but given what I paid for the bass I rather not spend that much).

Who did you do it with? I can do the de/re assembling myself as well.

He's an old Austin guitarslinger, very cool, mellow dude. He takes great pride in his work, doesn't rush, weather has to be just-so, etc.
I've emailed him to see if he's cool with me giving out his email. Let ya know.

RR

Sent me pics as the process went along:

Thanks Ron. Let me know what he says, I'm quite interested!

While we are at it, where one would buy a 62 RI left handed pickguard? :D

So it's been a while since I had this bass refinished, but with trips and all I hadn't had the time to take a few pictures until today.
Pat Wilkins did a superb job. His customer service is just fantastic. I ended up going with vintage white. I also asked him to route an access canal for the truss rod. I also got a nice tortoise sheel pickguard from Matt here, and a pair of Lindy Fralin's on TB. I then took all the parts to Gary Fried of Fried Guitars in Brooklyn for rewire, assembly and setup.

And here's the end product. It plays great and looks fantastic as well (at least in my eyes!).
