Lakland Joe Osborn 5 strings USA

Post by slybass3000 »

Here are the specs...

• Swamp Ash body
• Translucent aged blonde (butterscotch) finish (wood grain is lightly visible through the finish)
• Quarter sawn rock maple neck
• BEAUTIFULLY striped rosewood slab board
• Birdseye maple dot markers
• Stack-knob electronics (V/T & V/T)
• Lindy Fralin custom pickups
• Dunlop Straplok compatible strap buttons
• Chrome front pickup cover
• Hipshot Ultralight Tuners
• OHSC with Lakland logo
• Approximate weight is 9.5 lbs
• 35" scale

I bought it from Addison here. Great bass. I did use it it only on a few sessions and here at home in my non-smoking studio.

It is impeccable. I'm asking $2,500 US plus shipping and I'm open to offers as well,

PS. Thanks to Addison to let me use his beautiful pics, thanks bro, ;-)

Oh man, I'm gassing for my own bass!!!

:o

Yeah, what a beauty... and it's one of only two known to exist!

If I had the cash, I'd probably buy this bass back in a second... I do miss it.

Good luck with the sale, Syl!

Thank you all for your support.

The only reason I'm selling this awesome bass is that I finished my recording of my next book for bass and my goal was to showcase a lot of different basses for tone reference. But now my project is done and I need to strip down my collection from 20's to 10 basses. This bass sounds really like a great vintage JB with a tight low B. Since I own a custom 5 and that is the one I play for 20 years I can't replaced my main bass with something else by respect for the luthier who built it and the fun I have playing it.

You won't get that quality of built and sound with a Skyline. This is a player's bass.

I can upload some clips from my next book for a taste of it.

I've got the other 5-string JO lefty in the world. Bought it from 'Thumbslam'....these are great basses!! It has become my #1 bass, and is almost the only bass I play (and there are plenty more here to play). Somebody needs to get on this sweet Lakie, they won't regret it!

Thanks for your input and congrats.

You make me think twice about that sell now ;-)

no access to either location - it's username/password protected

I believe you need to link to an individual track (many links if many tracks) instead of pointing to the folder

all the best,

Syl,

In the Soundcloud menu go to "You > Tracks"

Above each track there's a little "Share" button... click it.

When the menu appears, you'll see where it says, "Get the link". Double click the URL, right click on it, and hit copy.

Paste that code into your reply on the forum.

Thank you, and thanks to Addison for the soundcloud suggestion. it does work great !

These files were done really quickly so, I apologize for the lack of creativity. For the past 4 months I only played slap bass so I'm kind of in a rut !! LOL

The recordings were done with the basses straight into a Demeter tube DI into a Brent Averill 1073 MP, that's it no eq, no nothing .
