George Furlanetto Fretless 5 String Re-Finish Smokin!!!

Post by thumbslam »

Well I finally got it back after 8 weeks of waiting :( . The finish looks killer a nice deep almost sinister red pearl burst that’s almost blood to black but not completely. There are some very minor imperfections were Pat had to mask out the bridge and the logo but I’m not sure it could have been done much better. The bass sounds, plays, look fantastic. I am not a big fretless guy although I wish I was...I am in need of raising funds for paying off the refinishing of this bass and the work that is currently being done to a fretless 5 string neck through Thumb Warwick. So unfortunately my wife says some of my lumber has to go….This bass sounds like an upright bass on roids in a big round warm good way.

Oops. I just slipped in my own drool.

This may well be one of the most beautiful beasts I've ever had the pleasure of laying my eyes upon. YOWZA.

I pulled the Zon and the F Bass off eBay for now. I might have something worked out locally and judging by the lack of offers and the few I did have and all that I am seeing in the selling market things are still pretty bad regardless of what our trusty leaders say. My local deal isn’t 100% done but I needed to pull them both for now. I’ll post either way when I know in the next few weeks. Thanks everyone for the compliments on the instruments they are top notch...They might still be available in the near future either one or both depending what happens next for me locally.
