I failed to buy this a year ago, n now it's back. Very rare in lefty I believe, only one I've ever seen.

It's on a ship at the moment on it's way to me in the UK !! ........ I bought it for 12500 yen ( £100) in late July on YJ Auction site....... Always wanted one of these , but as you say very hard to find a lefty . I have also bought an identical righty version in case I need spare parts. The lefty has been fitted with a brass ESP bridge .

Isn't there another version of the Motion that's white with illuminated rings around the tone/volume knobs or something? I believe there's a guy or two on Arni's site that has a left handed version of that one. Very cool.

Jimmy2thou, mate, how'd u manage 2 buy it? I live in Japan, speak the lingo but because I've only got a foreign credit card, I can't buy anything more than ¥5000 on Yahoo. Unlock the mystery & it will open up some lefty stuff from here that, although I wouldn't want it, other members have lusted for, so I could perhaps buy the stuff on their behalf. Mailing a bass thru the post office here to the US is about $120~140, never sent any 2 the UK but I guess the equivalent in pounds. I'm not looking to make a business out of it, just unleash rare lefties into the wider & appreciative brotherhood out there. Cheers, Glen

pjmuck ..... the only motions I've seen with led's are the ones with red led fret markers .
I have seen one or two with coloured tops on the vol/tone knobs which I believe are coil taps for switching the humbuckers to single coil.
Click on link below to see a motion with led fret markers currently for sale on YJ auction site.
Forgive my ignorance but who/what/where is Arni's site ?

Glefty5 ........... How frustrating must that be !! ...... you live in Japan ..... speak the lingo ...... but can't buy wonderful japanese guitars on YJ .

I'll put a link at the bottom , but basically these guys have a site that lets anyone , anywhere , bid (in realtime) on any YJ auction.

You deposit an amount of money (via PayPal) you wish to use to bid on that item (guitar).
Their site then bids on your behalf (instantly) ....... if you win the auction the item is sent to their warehouse (inTokyo) from the seller.
Once it arrives with them they will email you giving you various options regarding shipment method and if you require the guitar to be professionally repackaged (1200yen & recommended ). It works like a dream , very slick ....... If you don't win the auction click for a refund....I've bought seven guitars in the last 18 months .... delighted with every one of them ......

Obviously there are costs involved : Their fee for auction is: 800yen + 8% of final bid
local delivery to them from seller: 1500 to 1800 yen in most cases
bank charges : 300 yen
optional professional repacking (expertly done) 1200 yen
surface mail handling (not always applicable) 1750 yen
tax charged by seller (not always applicable) 262 yen

These bump the cost of your guitar up , however these guys are unique in that they are willing to ship your axe via surface mail (sea) ..... it's slow but very cheap (5100 yen or £41 sterling to UK ) takes 4-6 weeks....... All of my guitars have been shipped this way and all arrived in perfect condition with no damage to packing box.
The link to the site is here: http://www.jauce.com/faq/?View=entry&EntryID=112

To get to bass guitars from that page click on : Hobby & Culture
then click on: Musical Instrument & Equipment
then click on: String
then click on: Electric Bass
then click on: Body

You now have thousands of lovely basses to drool over ........ finding a lefty though does require some searching & patience.
My tip for lefties is don't trust the "lefty" filter ..... it often doesn't work ...... you will need to trawl through all listings for that particular brand which means looking a lots and lots of right handers. ....... some of my best 'finds' have come from trawling the 'others' section where the brand has not been specified by the seller.

Glen...... I don't see why they will not ship to you in Japan if you explain the foreign creditcard problem ...... Nichido is very quick to respond to emails.
The Winwindo guitar site is slightly confusing to first time users ...... It's a small selection of guitars that Jauce are selling themselves , It's not the main YJ auction site.

Meanwhile I've GOT to stop buying guitars ..... I really have to .....honestly ......no going back ...... I'm going to Cold Turkey this time....................... ....................... ..................unless someone knows of another lefty motion .

Okay, I may be confusing these with the RBX-A2 bass, which has those illuminated knobs. At any rate, I've only seen 1 lefty RBX-A2 as well. And damn, that Motion looks like a fantastic bass.

The Motion does look very nice , or rather did look very nice ! ...... it sold today ahead of the auction end time as it had a 'buy it now' option of $773/£483 . I'm glad it wasn't a lefty as I would have been losing sleep and spending money I don't have on it !!

Further to my earlier posting regarding using YJ auction site to buy guitars directly from Japanese sellers.

YJ works on very similar lines to Ebay with a couple of differences that you need to know.

If a bid comes in during the last 5 minutes of an auction end time the auction end time is automatically extended by 15 minutes. This prevents 'sniping' that those of us (with a very fast broadband connection) are so fond of !! ........... It's no bad thing ......because if you are using Jauce.com to bid for you it allows you the time to top up your funds via PayPal if you feel that dream axe is slipping away from you .

Also if a seller puts a' buy it now' option on a listing the option to buy it now remains available even after normal bids have started. This differs from Ebay where the buy it now option is removed as soon as a normal bid is received.

Just in case you are wondering ....... there is no Ebay Japan ..... they came ... they saw .. they left !! ........ I presume the Japanese characteristics of fairness and honesty was at odds with Ebay's modus operandi ..
