Would love to get this, always had a soft spot for the Ripper and Grabber basses.

Me too!
48000 yen isn't too bad, a little under $600, wonder what shipping would be, probably $100 - 150. So, approx $800 total. Not bad at all.

+1. Never seen a lefty Ripper in any form by any maker, though I've been trying to get Gaskell to offer one. I wonder how many lefties were made?

Don't have any info on it but looks like its gone. A bass from Japan would run $100-150 for freight, depending on weight, method, etc.

Good news is that no-one bought it so there is another chance to buy. :D :o The problem with Yahoo auctions is that you have to be a member & live in Japan, plus there is a ¥5000 limit if you don't have a Japan issued credit card. However, if anyone is serious about buying this, I found a way you can message the seller so if you need a step by step, let me know. As this will probably be a slow mover, he may well be willing to sell it outside of the auctions; worth a try! You can write in English as most Japanese can read English & will reply in, hopefully understandable, English! If you wanna give it a crack, lemme know n I'll walk you through it. :D

Direct contact with Yahoo auction Japan sellers.

Post by glefty5 »

Hi guys,
I was able to message the Aria Ripper seller as I have a current Yahoo Auctions account, but I signed out & tried to do the same as a guest & wasn't able to access the direct message tab, :( so I guess you will need to join up, if that's possible from a non-Japan based position, to do the same. Other alternative is for me to send your initial requests with your email addy so that seller can contact you direct, as I'm not trying to skim or make any shekels on this, just want to help out my lefty brethren when I can. :o However, it's worthwhile giving joining Yahoo Japan a shot.
Also, some sellers don't enable other members to message them, such as the White XL2 Steinberger seller so pls be aware of that.

A week later & still no reply despite a polite reminder. Sorry guys, I did my best. Maybe I should stop posting these unattainable Japan Yahoo basses on here. :? I did it to let you all know what was out there :o  but now I'm getting a guilt trip about the terminal teasing with eye candy that can't be had. :?

No, post them for sure. It's appreciated and it's nice to know what's out there (even if we can't get it).
