Nice looking bass but I don't think you're going to get $2500 for a parts bass regardless of how nicely it's finished.

Great looking bass man! Love the relic work on the fingerboard. I have a question about the neck, in particular, the fingerboard where it meets the headstock above the nut. You mentioned it was a Warmoth neck but on every Warmoth neck with a (rosewood or ebony fingerboard) that I've seen, the rosewood extends way past the point that it does on your bass. My question is, how did you get the fingerboard to stop right above the nut? Did Warmoth do that for you or did you remove the extra rosewood that Warmoth necks have? I LOVE the real vintage look that your bass neck has.

It does extend a good deal above the nut. It's probably the angle or the light that makes it appear to stop right after the nut.

You're right, they're not identical. How old are your necks? Maybe they changed designs?

I ordered the one on the left about 5 1/2 years ago. The one on the right is older, but I don't know how old.

I ordered mine a year ago. So maybe that's why. The only other reason (for the headstock shape, and I would have to verify with my luthier) is if he ordered a neck with a full paddle headstock and cut it himself at the shop.

I put a new Warmoth neck on a friend's MIJ Jazz 2 years ago, and it's the same as mine are.

Superb and awesome relic job and feel -> included in the luthier's cast, and I still think it's 200$ too high.

experienced luthier that puts the parts together (and relics the bass)-> 500$
pots,wire, pickguard -> 50$ (he should have spent 75$ and got a 'period correct' p/g)

No I haven't created a second username.

As for the price, everything as far as material goes can be verified on the net. Where it gets subjective is the amount the luhier charges for his work.

All I can say is that I paid the bass 3100$ including the case.

Wether you think it's justified or not is not relevant. Neither if you think the price I'm selling it for is too high or not.

If the price suits you and you consider buying the bass, contact me and we can discuss everything. If you think the price is too high and that I might consider a decent offer, contact me as well.

I'm open to discuss anything else regarding shapes, aspects, finish etc... etc....
