...that Sadowsky is considering making left handed Metro basses! I really hope this happens.
Anyone besides me jump at the chance to own a Sadowsky Metro?
I heard a rumour...

Not too familiar with Sadowsky's...aren't they primarily J-bass knockoffs? (for lack of a better word)
Re: I heard a rumour...
You really shouldn't pigeon hole them so badly... they also make P-Bass knockoffs.
But seriously, Sadowsky make beautifully crafted Jazz and Precision style basses that tend to be lightweight, comfortable and sound killer. The Metro line is their Japan made series of basses that aren't offered lefty right now, but Roger told me they are considering it. the metro's come in a few styles now, but they got my attention originally by being 70's Fender styled basses (natural finishes, block inlay necks, etc.). I love that look and would be glad to get a Metro for the cost savings too.

I have an idea...you think with enough lefty bassists out there emailing companies, you might possibly get a company to consider making a model that is only right handed to be available lefty too? What are your thoughts...oh yeah, great site. Got your PM on http://www.talkbass.com
Re: I heard a rumour...
Any idea where in Japan they are made? Are they made in the Fujigen factory?
Sadowsky's are pretty few and far between here in Arizona.

Re: I heard a rumour...
I just saw the Metro Hybrid P...damn. I wonder if its string-thru body like modern P-basses are.
Re: I heard a rumour...
We've tried that a few times in the past on the Pit, but either couldn't get enough people to agree on a single design/style/type of bass or the last time we tried it seemed like we were there but the powers that be didn't carry the idea forward.SubsonicAssault wrote:I have an idea...you think with enough lefty bassists out there emailing companies, you might possibly get a company to consider making a model that is only right handed to be available lefty too? If we can get enough people on this board that's definitely an idea I'd like to revisit here... so tell your lefty bassist friend we exist!
Yeah, the Metro P's look killer. I'm a real sucker for the natural finish/maple board look.
Azwhofan has a most droolworthy old Fender P with that look.
Re: I heard a rumour...
I don't know for sure but my understanding is they aren't built at a factory. Sadowsky has a small shop in Japan similar to the one in NYC that has it's own teams of builders and I believe they build all the Metros. Where they get their parts from I don't know, it may be the factory you mentioned.AzWhoFan wrote:Any idea where in Japan they are made? Are they made in the Fujigen factory?

Re: I heard a rumour...
That would be good news. A few months ago I emailed Roger Sadowsky asking (actually more like begging
) for this very thing.
Re: I heard a rumour...
i'd get in line for sure....they are great basses
