Sadowsky

Post by Bassaria »

hey all - been playing this for about 2 months - absolutely a kick ass bass
every tone is useful, the weight is amazing, and the clarity and where it sits in the mix, both live and studio is really perfect
i'd have to say that the hype is pretty dead on. sorry i'm not the best photographer....
the color is candy apple orange and it does seem to flip in the light..

Mercy!!!........... that's a mighty fine axe you have there... please excuse me while I drool a little :)
In the topsy-turvy world of heavy rock, having a good solid piece of wood in your hand is often useful...

Wow I thought the finish was orange -> yellow but now I realize that's just the way it shines in the lighting, which is really cool! Sick bass

Curious how you spec'd it out. Was it the paint, electronics, or both?

as far as the specs - roger gives 2 wood choices - Alder and Ash. I went with Alder. I also went with upgraded brazilian rosewood board - he still has a pre-outlawed stash...like a few other builders.
I also asked for the 24 fret neck option with vintage tint - i opted the VTC (vintage tone control) as well as the standard sadowsky preamp/humcanceling pickup combo and of course the finish with matching stock was mine as well...
not TONS of options, but a few important ones like wood/board/ and the 24 option...all in all i am really still pleased with it after a half year of varied playing...now off to shovel MORE snow....

There are many lefthanded players who play with basses strung "inverted" (G on top). This is usually because when they were first learning to play they had to do so on righthanded basses that for whatever reason were not restrung "standard".

yep - thats how i play - upside down and backwards....heres the kicker though - i am right handed (please dont shun me!)
but check this and see if this doesnt make a boat load of sense....
1. i have my strong hand on the fretboard.
2. the lowest note (string) on the bass is closest to the floor....
3. as i play higher, the notes graphicly match -they get closer to the ceiling...
to me, this makes perfect sense - and yes, i did learn on a righty guitar in the attic and i was a trumpet player to boot - the digits were already moving that way on the right hand.. - but by the time someone said you are wrong, i was making money...; )
anyway - there are a few of us bastard children out there....its like were are the xmen of the bass world.....now if i could only play a gig with halle berry....
