STRATosphere sells lefty parts on eBay

Post by reynoldbot »

I don't know if all of you guys already know about this ebay seller, STRATosphere, but they specialize in selling Fender parts of all kinds including bodies and necks, and they often have a few lefty items in stock. They have tons and tons of stuff, they've been around for 7 years, and they have a great rating. So the next time you're looking for that specific neck or tuning keys or whatever, they just might have it:

I'm thinking of someday acquiring or building a '62 RI jazz, and if I can't find a whole one anywhere I will probably build one using parts sellers like STRATosphere. Has anybody dealt with these guys before and can tell us their experience?

I've used them for parts for several assembly jobs I did for a Nashville client. They shipped fast, the items were just as described in the listing including full disclosure of any blemishes, and the images in the listing were of the actual parts I purchased

they're on my list of good guys at eBay 8-)

all the best,

R

Hopefully I'm wrong, but I've always thought their thing was parting out guitars and selling the individual components for more than the collective parts would sell for.

I kind of suspect that's their bag, and it's debatable whether that's generally a disservice to the industry. For the most part I think not since the majority of the parts they sell are from instruments that are widely available. And if I'm looking around for a particular part, like just the neck to a lefty '62 RI P-bass, then I'm definitely glad these guys are around because otherwise it's going to be pretty much impossible to find. As long as they aren't parting out too many rare or vintage instruments.

The body on my fretless came from them. It's as advertised, was shipped fast, and packaged well. I'd use them again, no problem.

sometimes they will do actual auctions for random necks or bodies or other misc. parts and you can get them dirt cheap most of the time. i think the 57 reissue maple neck that they sell for about $500usd went for less than $200 last time they did a real auction for one.
