To pjmuck:

01 (P bass), 06 (lefty) from what I gather and the 5 is indeed 1975. They would not use a 75 neck on a 72/73 bass and call it a 72/73. I know the years were all screwed up then with parts hanging waiting to be used but come on.. 3 years????

Weight I don't know but I and a few others I know had 70's basses and all were tankers. Not saying they didn't make light ones because I have heard there were some.

The body is not original candy apple red. I still have the email from the original guy that said his father confirmed the body was a refinish….. It looked refinished and not original… That was one of my turnoffs…. Something didn't look right.

The pot has a 137 on it near the solder.. see pic I am attaching.

I am very familiar with the Fender book and its a great book but the color I saw was not candy apple red. It looked more like a Fender MIM bass to me.

……and I have never seen a P bass with a screw in the center. That was on the Jazz basses.

Dude, I put up pics of at least 4 mid-70's Precisions with the middle screw.......the last one (the fretless) is a light one, around 8.5 lbs, too, of those of you who care.

Didn't see your pics from my phone (saw them now)..... Ok, there is a screw in the early 70's P bass. My 78 and buddies 76 did not have it but confirmed. I have added far too much to this thread and hope the buyer is truely happy with the purchase.....
