Post subject:  New Phil Jones Bass mini stack

Just sold my Fretless Bongo so used the cash from that to purchase the second half of my new mini stack consisting of the Super Flightcase BG-300 and the PB-300 powered extension cab (it has no preamp). Size was a big consideration for me due to space restrictions so I'm hoping this rig is going to "fit" the bill. I was looking at Bergantino IP112 rigs with an HT112 extension cab but couldn't find any used in Canada and then these came up used but in pristine condition.

This rig gives me 500 watts pushing into 12 x 5" Neo Power speakers. The PB-300 weighs 36 pounds and I can actually lift it with one finger. Carrying it anywhere with one finger is a different matter however. ;) The Super Flightcase weighs even less at 33 pounds.

Additionally, I can use the PB-300 by itself with my Bass Pod XT Live as the front end or the Super Flightcase by itself with or without the Bass Pod. I'm thinking it's going to be quite versatile actually. Or maybe I should say "hoping". :)

Check out this YouTube video for an idea of the size of the stack. Sorry about the fact that the demo guy is Japanese and most of us, including me, can't understand what he's saying. I do enjoy his pronunciation of the amp name tho. :D

By the way, it's just under 45" H x 12.6" W x 16.1" D. Small foot print and the two upward facing 5's should really help to hear the rig onstage.

Just curious how this rig has worked out for you. Have you gigged it enough to give us your impressions/review?
