When you get a chance could you possibly update the list of what you have left? Thanks.

Here’s an update on the list…. I have quite a few apologies to make to many of the folks who have PM'ed or posted to me over the past couple months with inquiries about wanting to buy something, or just with questions or comments about stuff and I’ve gone AWOL... Of course I’ve taken good care of everyone I’ve sold to, but I've still been in the process of traveling back and forth getting moved, and unfortunately I just haven't had time to be on the board at all, which is a bummer-- but reality bites sometimes. I am getting close to being completely relocated and hopefully getting back to a normal life soon…

The updated current List:

1. Carvin B4 Fretless (SOLD)
2. Cort B4 Artisian model not sold in the USA (nos- w/ upgraded USA Bartolini electronics)
3. ESP LTD B254 (SOLD)
4. Hofner Icon – Trans Blue (nos)
5. Hondo Fame 830 P Bass (vintage)
6. Ibanez SR500L (SOLD)
7. MTD Kingston Z5 (SOLD)
8. Peavey Fury II
9. Schecter 004
10. Vaccaro X Ray 4 (rare aluminum neck)
11. Vantage VP825B (SOLD)
12. VantageVS600B (SOLD)
13. Yamaha BB614 (SOLD)

That said… I’ve recently had something of an epiphany through the process of trying to relocate a couple hundred basses from one house to another. Plugging and playing each one for a few minutes as I’ve packed them, I was reminded of how great each particular bass was and found myself wanting to spend more time really getting more into each one… but there just wasn’t enough time to do that. And it started to hit me: the quality of my relationships with many of them is just not what I wish it was. At some point you realize that to achieve the full potential of each individual experience, you have to focus your attention less widely. These are ALL great basses, that’s why I bought them- but they need to spend less time sitting and more time being played by someone! Of course I already knew all of that- but the old “too much of a good thing” and “less is more” clichés take on a much more pronounced element of truth when you’re trying to move 200 basses around. I’m not looking to part with the rarities, but I’m seriously entertaining the notion of a significant reduction of holdings, like maybe by 50%, by eliminating a lot of the redundancies… But I haven’t decided exactly which ones to sell or or how to do it. Selling and packing 75 to 100 basses one by one would take a massive amount of lot of time and effort. :? Any thoughts?

My advice would be to sell them in batches. Post 5 basses, give it a couple weeks, see what sells, deal with the sales, pull them down and put up 5 more.

Or, post the whole list all at once with the stipulation that you'll only deal with x amount of sales per week (a number you think you can do). That way you don't post 100 basses and suddenly find you have to ship 30 basses asap!

Thanks for the advice Andrew! The new current List:

If there's a bass (or basses) here that interests you let me know ASAP and we can discuss details. I will probably head to the Evil Bay with these as time permits to write up descriptions or take more pics ... and I haven't thought about trying to price each one individually so make me an offer. I'm not looking to make a profit- just looking for fair market value (I need to sell as many as possible to have a meaningful impact on getting down to a manageable number) so yes I will consider discounts on purchases of 2 or more. These are all great basses or I wouldn't own them. All are in very good to excellent condition, and some are basically “new old stock” (NOS) in that they have barely been played at all.

1. Cort PB1L - Vintage 70's, white with all Gold hardware
2. Cort B4 Artisian model not sold in the USA (nos- w/ upgraded USA Bartolini electronics)
3. G&L L2000 (nos)
4. Hofner Icon – Trans Blue Limited Edition (nos)
5. Hondo Fame 830 P Bass (vintage)
6. Peavey Fury II
9. Schecter 004
10. Schecter Stilletto Elite 4
10. Vaccaro X Ray 4 (rare aluminum neck)
11. Vantage VS600B (Vintage Japan!)
12. Yamaha BB1600 (Vintage Japan!)

Carmine,

Any chance you could send me a price list of your basses?

Also, where are you located? I'd like to estimate shipping to Battle Creek, Michigan.

Do the basses come with cases?

Back in the early 80's, my first bass was a right handed Vantage VS600B that I flipped over and had the controls rerouted into a lefty. I loved that bass. I think the stock pickup was a Dimarzio P-bass pickup. I had it for about 10 years and then, like a dummy, I traded it away for something else.

I'm primarily interested in the Vantage but I'm curious of the Cort B4, Peavey Fury and the Yamaha B1600.

Here's hoping we can do a little dealing!

Peace,

Russ

Hello Carmine,

When I found this site from talkbass.com, I was nearly in tears. You should see the travesty at my local guitar center, putting their lefty basses in a dusty corner to rot. Shame on them! I don't want to buy anything from them ever again.

Which brings me to your post. I would love know your asking price for these basses.

Thanks a bunch, and good luck with the move!

---Rob.

Yes it's true- Made in the USA, now on it's way to the land of OZ. I must say, a wave of seller's remorse swept over me as I was packing it up :( . What a lovely, lovely bass! I guess I will have to be content with the knowledge that the musical quality of life will be significantly improved for one aussie lefty bassist- like a "Ray" of sunshine... :P
I Didn't realise these were in such scarce supply down there Ray!

Hi Carmine,
Suspect I'm the bloke who's arrived just as the party finishes, but I'd be interested in prices for the Cort B4 and Stiletto please, along with shipping costs to UK if you're prepared to do it. And just to complete the predictable set of questions: do you build the cost of a case into shipping charge or something, or send them protected in some other way? If it's cases, I hope you've secured a commission rate with your case supplier, mate - that's a lot of basses you're firing off around the globe! Cheers, Steve.

Apologies in advance for any forum/BBoard etiquette cock-ups - this is the first reply I've ever posed on a forum!
