I am curious as to who would want what as their next lefty. i think it would be fun to compare who would get what and see what you would do to make the bass fit your needs. also i usually see whats comin out... like the new ESP and Ibanez comin out. I am going to go for the new Ibanez SR300L but I'd put Bartolini Pickups and have it colored blue

I want a lefty V bass and a lefty Explorer, but honestly just because they're sort of ridiculous. I've honestly never been much of a gear whore, I think it comes from growing up during the whole "grunge" movement thing where everyone was using cheap junk. I'm pretty damn happy with my SX P/J.

Would anyone want to see a Parker Fly Mojo Bass Lefty?

I dig their guitars, but I can't stand the look of their basses. They seem a little out of proportion. I'm sure they're incredibly comfortable to play though.

I would love to have a lefty Fender Marcus Miller signature Jazz Bass 5. I don't care at all for Marcus Miller, but when I played one of those basses upside down I loved the feel of the neck and the curve of the fingerboard, and that sound! I'm sure there are plenty of brands who can build something that'll get me very close though, like Mike Lull. Actually, the neck of my Ellio Martina Forza 5 is pretty close to that of the MM5.

Yes indeed. :D

FYI, a couple of years ago I saw a lefty Parker bass knockoff on ebay. It was fretless and made by a company called Wensen I believe. (Can't find any info about them online).

What about anything from like BC Rich?

I prefer the Warlock and Mockingbird that i had but they were both smashed up (I am now using parts from both models to create a frankenbass) I am looking with great obsession for a warlock body but nothing yet

The only BC Rich I like the looks of is the Mockingbird. I'm not into pointy shapes (anymore) but really have a weak spot for the Mockingbird. A nice USA-made ntb model with that interesting but weird and finicky preamp of theirs...

That top one looks familiar. :)

I agree, I'm not much of a fan of BC Rich's designs except for the Mockingbird and the Eagle. Bernard Edwards played an Eagle on Chic's "Freak Out" I believe before switching to Stingrays.

My Mock is a "short horn" due to the shorter lower horn. They're rarer than the standard long horns, but I like the look of the long horns better. That same one pictured on Ed Roman's site was for sale a few months ago through http://www.leftyloserguitars.com. He took it down now so perhaps he sold it? He was asking $1500.

I do like the look of the upper horn on yours better. But I agree, the longer lower horn is sexier.

i like the top "short horn" version because its totally different from anything you'd normally expect. thats what i like when it comes to my basses.

How about the best of both worlds with a PJ combo like the Hot Rod P?

Post subject:  Re: Lefty Fantasy and New Products

possible, but id rather the American P because my grandfather has a 1966 Precision (righty of course) and i play it with every chance i get, it is absolutly flawless and feels perfect. idk yet, i still have plenty of time to choose so im not gonna worry about it im gonna stick to the now which is getting that Ibanez

Post subject:  Re: Lefty Fantasy and New Products

The Hot Rod P is based on the American Standard (pre-2000) and American Series (post-2000) as well, it just has some additional features: ash body, strings through body, added J-pickup, stock tortoise pickguard, and more colour options than Fender has ever offered us lefties ;)
