Hi all!

A while since my last post but here's a Ibanez sr800L I bought form a pawnshop. I Payed 135 euros for it with a hardcase.

After a proper cleanup and some setup it's actually a really nice bass. Ash body and maple neck. Active electronics. Weird bridge though..

This bass has been played a lot and theres some dings here and there but I dont mind really. I find these pickups powerful and I wonder how some real emg's would sound.

Two of the original beehive potiknobs were missing so I just replaced them whatever I had.

Cool find, and a nice price!
I would maybe mend that chipped lacquer on the headstock with some clear nail polish to stop it from falling off completely. A luthier could probably do a better job, but since you don't seem to mind some minor damage, the nail polish would be the cheapest solution.

Congrats! Great bass! I have one identical and its one of my main players. Lightest, most well-balanced bass I own. I found the Low Z pickups to be just that...low output, but if I recall they are designed so you can plug it straight into a soundboard etc.
I took the preamp and pups out and put an EMG Geezer PJ set in and it slays!

IMO Ibanez moving away from PJs and putting soapbar style pickups in all but the low-end SR basses was a mistake.
