I'm currently on the look out for a scaled-down Fender bass and being in the UK, finding this kind of instrument in a lefty model is pretty slim.
Now I have noticed that Fender Japan do a range of basses known as Smart Size. These are scaled down versions of J and P basses. Maybe around 85% normal size. I have seen images showing a lefty jazz but no P model and I can't find a website that seems to sell lefty options.
Has anyone on here played one or know where they are currently available in lefty version?
:?

Wow, never knew about this. Wonder if they're all rosewood boards?

I used to have one of these scaled down P-basses from Fender Japan, which ended up being scavenged for parts. Good bass!

Really? I wouldn't expect those parts to fit many other models.

The electronics are the same as any Japanese Fender of the time.

It's called the Fender JB62SS, with SS for Smart Size. These are very recent and haven't been around long, now that Fender Japan as we used to know it is no more. Looks like a fun instrument. Wouldn't count on any lefties.

There's also a Chinese or Indonesian made Fender Modern Player Jazz Bass shortscale with a PJ setup.

Mine was a lefty and I bought it used in 1987 or 88.
