Hey there...i really weird idea came to my head a few days ago. What if we could make a band that only consists of bass and drums?

I know..this could be a little hard. But i really love jamming with just a drummer. Its really hard for me to get along with guitarists..because they always ask me to lower the volume of my bass so that they can only be heard.Anyway..about a year ago i jammed with a friend and it was really nice..(i think)

You can check it out here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FB6BkUF9h3w

I really sorry for the bad quality of the sound. It was taken with a mobile phone. We were just messing around and we started to improvise. For any mistakes..be gentle..we were improvising... ;)

Sounds cool bassman, and welcome to the board. If you've never seen Flea's "instructional" video, called Adventures in Spontaneous Jamming, check it out. It has little instructional value, but Flea does a few cool jams with just drums (Chad Smith) that sound pretty good.

There's been a few bands that have done the drum and bass duo line-up. There's Death From Above 1979, Lightning Bolt, Duotang, and Kruburn I can think of off the top of my head. Anyone know of any more?

Damn you Andrew, I wanted the interwebz cool points for naming those bands! However, I was also going to mention a really kickass local band here called A Hurricane (checkem out on myspace if you dig DFA1979) and that Morphine was bass, drums, and sax.

Probably the best Bass and Drum duo out there.

Yes, and it's chief instrumentation is drum machines and keyboards.
