Did you happen to try out the Hagstrom? I'm a big fan of this trend to this look/type of pickup/placement.

Oops. Forgot to add Hagstrom to my list/photos. I tried this bass unplugged. It was a bit on the heavy side, but well-constructed with a fairly comfortable neck profile. Hagstrom also offers the Beluga Bass in lefty, which they didn't have on display. http://www.hagstromguitars.com/Beluga_II.html. (Adirondack Guitars has one on stock). They're Korean made and better than average Korean instruments, IMO.

... So while you guys have been getting all sweaty for the Airline Map bass (and it is a beauty BTW), I have been lusting hard after one of these sexy beasts ever since PJ's NAMM report- and finally decided to go for it (I'm a sucker for that burgundy burst 8-)) ... have one en route to arrive on Friday.

I couldn't find much of anything in the way of online reviews, etc. Anybody had any additional experience with these yet?

I still haven't seen one in person Carmine. I'd love it if you gave us a review when you've had some time playing it.

I saw it at NAMM too, but I didn't plug it in.

Please give us a review when it lands on Friday. I'm intrigued to hear those pickups.

Looking at those art deco tuners is giving me double vision. I keep squinting to try to bring the photo back in focus ;)
