Well, I went ahead and finally worked a deal and bought the Roscoe SKB3006 listed on Arni's site... here it is!

Image

There is NOT a mark on it... it is literally like-new... in PERFECT condition.

Andreas is a really nice guy and I'm glad that I went for it and made the deal happen,

I'm speechless... it's BEAUTIFUL.

As per Gard @ Roscoe, here are the specs:

SKB 3006 Left-handed
Exhibition Myrtle Burl top
Spanish Cedar body
Natural finish
Bartolini 3-band preamp
Bartolini/Roscoe pickups
19mm string spacing
Pau Ferro fingerboard
Diamondwood nut
Black hardware

It seems that all the travelling and cold air gave the neck a pretty serious back-bow... but that was solved with a few quick turns of the truss rod. The neck straightened immediately into absolute perfection, and hasn't moved since.

In fact, it's the straightest buzz-free neck on any bass I've ever played. It's insane. I liked playing it so much that I actually gigged with it immediately both Friday AND Saturday night.

Having never even player a 6'er before, I was a little overwhelmed at first... Friday night I floundered a little bit, but Saturday wasn't a problem at all.

As far as how this sounds... all I can say is WOW!!!

Slap, pop, funk, rock, country, disco... you name it. It's SICK.

I'll try to get some clips recorded and post them in the sound samples thread ASAP.

Man, I am one happy camper... this bass RULES.

WOO HOO!!!

I have owned countless basses and I still own 5 really nice instruments and my Roscoe has the best neck, fret job and just plain playability of any bass I have ever touched period. The tone is out of this world. If I could only have one bass for the rest of time it would be my 6 string Roscoe....Congrats man they have some of the best craftsmanship I ever saw or played. When you compare the quality and "kickassness" of a Roscoe they stand up to any bass company out there. Including basses twice the cost. The longer you own it the more you will love it. My fret board smells just like chocolate too. I think it’s the finish on the board. I bought mine from a member here and he had an Aguilar OPB-3 put in and the neck shaved down a bit. It plays itself!!!!
