I didn’t want to put this up in Spotted because I don’t see any real listings for it yet and they aren’t even on Guilds website, but it looks like they’re making the new Starfire I in a lefty model. Found a listing on Thomann (no pictures) for $609.

https://m.thomannmusic.com/guild_starfi ... ry_red.htm

and here’s the press release from NO TREBLE (with pictures and demo video), that says it’ll be available left handed.

Granted, it doesn’t have the BiSonic pickup, but looks and sounds pretty good to me. Different bridge too.

Looks good to me!

Good price too. Short scale, p bass pickup. I bet it sounds great with flats!

A couple of options like that on the market (schecter banshee, mike watt signature) but this is a hollow body.

Not sure if I like the bridge though.

Would be nice to get to try one when it hits the streets.

Offtopic: I wish Fender would make a lefty mustang bass.

Was stoked until I saw the pickup.

I had the same reaction, although it sounds nice enough in the demo.

Same here! Even a Squier would do, those Classic Vibes look great. Heck, at this point I would even settle for a Mustang PJ (even though I hate the look of those big pickups on such a small bass).

"30 3/4 inch scale". I wonder what that extra 3/4 inch will get for you sonically? Personally, I really like 30 in scale basses.

Yeah, I’m a little dismayed by the pickup too... I get the impression those BiSonics aren’t cheap or easy to make though, so maybe it was a cost issue?

It’d be great to see a lefty Squier Mustang!! Or some of their other models. I’m bummed in general that they haven’t offered more for us southpaws. They seem to be doing some pretty cool out of the box stuff lately for a bigger company and I for one feel left out

I would be very interested in a lefty Mustang, but only the P and not the PJ. I ordered one decades ago, but they moved the factory to a different location (1970, maybe?) and after several months I cancelled the order.

The new Starfire I is made in Indonesia (the other Starfires in Korea). Other differences are it has neck binding and no inlay on the headstock.
