Ah, nice. I just got a pedal from John. Really nice guy and very talented when it comes to building gear.
Got any close up pics of the Kallas P? How is it compared to your other basses?
Tell me which part of the bass you want a close-up pic of and I'll make a few shots and I'll post them here.

I really dig that Kallas stuff too! It looks like he's really got it going on with that vintage-esque stuff. The only thing that would stop me from buying a bass from him is the fact that he charges a whopping 25% upcharge for leftys. (At least that's what it says on his site.) That makes a $2400 bass into a $3000 real quick. 10% I could live with but 25%? Bummer.
The Kallas P is a great bass. I strung both of my Kallas basses with John's preferred flats and the P really sounds awesome. Both basses also have the 'light weight' option, so like all of my basses they're around 8 lbs. It also has an upgraded fretboard, also like all of my other basses. The P is very resonant. I also tried to put some foam under the bridge cover and that really puts it in motown territory, especially when paired with a tube DI like the Jule Amps Monique or the A Designs REDDI.
One thing I just HAVE to mention is the tort pickguard. I don't know where he gets his pickguards from, but the tort is really convincing. Nowadays, it's easy to spot that most brands use a faux tort pickguard, but the one John put on is really nice.
In short: I'd say that the P can compete with the other basses in build quality and sound quality.

I saw your purple sparkly bass posted on the Sadowsky Facebook page the other day, and I thought to myself, "I wonder if this bass is owned by that same cat who owns the green Sadowsky P/J with the reverse headstock that's for sale."
Lo and behold...
Killer collection, man... I'll take that Will Lee off your hands if the time ever comes.
Thanks! The green Sadowsky PJ actually isn't for sale anymore. I already sold one Sadowsky before and while I don't care about some other basses I used to own, I really miss that one, so I decided to keep the green PJ before I have seller's remorse again.
That WL5 is one of my favorite basses, so I don't see myself selling it anytime soon. At first I was afraid 'cause I used to order all my basses with a Brazilian rosewood fretboard, but the guys at Sadowsky found out they can't ship that species outside the US anymore, so I had to settle for Amazon rosewood. Although Roger had assured me it came as close to Brazilian as possible, I was still a little on the fence. Stupid me. I bought my first Sadowsky sight unseen / -heard / -touched, so I should have known that one can trust Roger Sadowsky when it comes down to building an instrument. The Amazon sounds, feels and looks awesome! The only thing that Amazon doesn't have, IMO, is that specific scent when you open the case / smell the fretboard after a treatment, but otherwise, it's as good as Brazilian, IMO.
And now that I'm on it, here are the full specs of the basses, FYI / FWIW:
#1: Sadowsky NYC Standard J4 - ash body with spalted maple top, Brazilian rosewood fretboard, 20 frets, 9" radius, 1.5" nut width, 20mm string spacing
#2: Sadowsky NYC Vintage PJ4 - ash body, Brazilian rosewood fretboard with abalone dots, 20 frets, 9" radius, 1.5" nut width, 19mm string spacing
#3: Sadowsky NYC WL5 - ash body, Amazon rosewood, 22 frets, 12" radius, 1.75" nut width, 19mm string spacing
#4: Sadowsky NYC Modern 24F5 - mahogany body, ebony fretboard, 24 frets, 12" radius, 1.75" nut width, 19mm string spacing
Sadowsky NYC 4 string basses can be ordered with a 1.5 (standard) or 1.75" nut width as well as your choice of 20 (standard) or 19mm string spacing. You can also choose a 12 (standard) or a 9" fretboard radius and 21 frets (standard), which gives you a squared heel or 20 frets, which gives you a rounded heel.
Sadowsky NYC 5 string basses can be ordered with a 1.875" (standard) or 1.75" nut width as well as your choice of 19 (standard) or 18mm string spacing. 12" radius is fixed.
#5: Kallas P - ultra light ash body, some sort of Brazilian rosewood, 20 frets, nitro finish, Gotoh res-o-lite tuners
#6: Kallas J - ultra light alder body, some sort of Brazilian rosewood, 20 frets, nitro finish, Gotoh res-o-lite tuners
#7: Nordstrand Nordy vM5 - ash body, Madagascar rosewood, 20 frets, 2B-MM pre-amp (first bass to have this one)
#8: Stambaugh Custom 4 fretless - ash body with burled maple top, macassar ebony fretboard, custom headstock inlay, J/MM/piezo PU config. The MM pickup can be set in coil1, coil2 or both.
So I think that covers it. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate
