The scratches you see are not real scratches, but where the string touches the fingerboard the stainless steel becomes extra shiny, you can see them but can not feel them.


The marks remind me of a DNA marker test result.... you're branding your neck with your own Musical DNA! 8-)

Wow man your builds are amazing. I don't know how I missed the stainless steel fretless - how would you describe the sound?

I know you said you don't want to build to sell, but I'll bet you'd have no problem doing so if you ever changed your mind!

It has the brightness and detail of a fretted bass but with the possibilities of a fretless, a wooden fretless fingerboard sounds more dampened and a bit warmer.

Do a video search for LeFay Remington Steele for the sound, some of those gave me idea for this build.
