I just received my first batch of lefty necks with the new RGW logo back from the finishing shop, and wanted to give you a first peek. as you can see, the nut slot behind the zero-fret still needs to have a nut fit and slotted

Image

the decals were printed in SoCal by the company that does most of the music industry headstock decals

the 5-string version is very similar, but needed a little bending to better fit its location with respect to the 5th tuner key in a 4+1 configuration. images on this when I have one to snap an image of ;)

all the best,

R

and here's the headstock fully loaded, but still in need of having the nut cut

Image

the tuner keys are located just right so that the strings pull straight across the zero-fret, even without a nut to guide them :) I also have come to really like those Hipshot string trees over the vintage styled round button, and plan to utilize these as a standard feature unless someone was to request otherwise

FWIW here's the backside of that 'regular' grade Birdseye neck

all the best,

R

Wow!

That "regular grade" birdseye is awesome!

The logo looks great too.

Yep,could you imagine the "AAA grade birdseye"!!! :o :o :o

The logo is great, but i would move it a little more down, perhaps it is a visual effect, but the top of the R is a little bit under the G sting ,i know it is a detail, but i love details!!

Greetings

André

agreed André - this was the first one to be completed with the new logo, and what originally looked good turned out to be just a little bit off. future headstocks should have their logo decals placed a little more towards the edge.

and yes that AAA grade Birdseye was unbelievable. I'll have to shoot a couple images next time I'm at the warehouse.

FWIW - I have a piece of mineral stained AAA Birdseye that will be combined with the acrylized Birdseye fingerboard I posted of in another thread. Today I know this will be a 4-string fretless, but I am still deciding whether this will be made into a lefty or righty fretless. Since I'm still undecided, the wood sits on the rack in anticipation of what it will someday become

all the best,

R
