this came from a Saturday afternoon gig at a local music store. "Won't Get Fooled Again".....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBqWb2jk ... BqWb2jkMPk

It was an odd day where some songs were played well, and some were not. the guitar players decided to play guitars from the store's inventory, and had trouble with intonation, and played through their amps, so they weren't able to get the sound they were looking for at times. It through them off just enough so there were small "brain farts" at times. But it was fun....

Sorry 'bout that AZWhoFan, I can't find the edit button to get rid of that bad link, but I see you came up with this one too....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBqWb2jk ... annel_page

hope that works! I think the youtube servers are overworked at the moment, as the video kept stalling on me, and it wasn't even in HD mode...

Is there a way to edit my first post in this thread to change the link, or can you do it for me? Thanks...

AZWhoFan.... being a Who fanatic as I am, I'm dyin' to know if you thought we did a good job on the song? We altered the format just a bit, but I think musically we did alright. Someone who could sing like Roger would have been great, but I think the our guitar player did a decent job of it.

Sounds great. Good mix with most of the bass notes audible. What kind bass is that you're playing? Guitarist/vocalist does a good job too. It sounds like the song if Townsend were to sing it, IMO. If I had to make any suggestion to you guys it would be to play it sloppier and looser with more mistakes if you want to sound closer to the Who. ;)

P.S. tell your guitarist to buy this and your rendition will be perfect:

considering all the 'handicaps' you mentioned, I thought you guys did a great job. Your drummer thankfully did not overplay his parts. The mix sounds great on my headphones.

Me too!

A friend of mine played bass for Hugh Cornwell's solo project.

We were mixed through the board, and the sound was mixed before the videos were put up on youtube. Can't remember the last time someone asked me to play more sloppy!

My bass is custom made, and was built by a luthier named Ron Blake, who at the time was working for World Class Guitars. I'm not sure if he's still there. The company is owned by a guy named Ed Roman, who seems to have built up quite a negative reputation over the years. My bass, while being well built, and cost me about $3600, has no real resale value because of Ed Roman's reputation. I'll never sell it though, as it is my first (and only at this time) custom built bass. It has a 36" scale length, and the original EMG pickups have been replaced with passive Aero humbuckers. I have a set of TI nickel jazz flats on it. The top is quilted bubinga, on black korina wood, also known as Limba. Neck is maple-wenge, with an ebony fingerboard.

I'll forward the the link on to my guitar player regarding the HOG effect...
