Dana Off Set Bass
This is a one of a kind hand made Dana Off Set Bass that I had made back in 1992-1993
Dana is best known for his work with Alvarez and his crazy Scoop guitar.
I had this made with 2 interchangeable necks and finished in purple.
Body is super light - not sure of the wood - the necks are both hard rock maple with rosewood on the fretted and something exotic on the fretless - I honestly can't remember….but its rock hard as there are minimal sings of wear.
I always have used half wounds on all my fretlesses..
The original Dana electronics/pickups were great live but were a little noisy for studio work so I replaced them with a pair of EMGS
I will include the original Dana electronics - pickups are gone….
21 Fret neck specd to a jazz/guild pilot bass
Thats what this bass reminds me of - a guild pilot on testosterone.
It is SUPER ergonomic and both necks are stellar. The fretless currently uses a shim to compensate for the ability to switch - Dana's doing…
Dunlop strap locks
Again, this bass has seen over 1k of gigs…it is chipped and scratched but no damage effect playability or tone.
I paid 2K for this in 93 (what was I thinking….i could have had a sadowsky then….if i had known who he was….)
Anyway - this is not getting played and is a really cool ax so it needs to be out there.
Blue book on a DANA ALVAREZ made in Korea is $300 to $750
This is a worn hand made boutique bass with 2 necks.
$750 plus shipping to CONUS only
Paypal only or cash (19390)
No case but will include a double gig bag for $50 for the first buyer of my for sale basses.
