I unfortunately found another instrument I need *sigh* to get. I do not have all the funding to get it currently. Up for sale is my Musicman SR4 in Natural/Maple neck with black pickguard. This bass is all original excluding the dunlop straplocks but will be selling with the originals that came with it. 3-band preamp and original pickup with rounded edge pole-pieces "not sharp like some older models". This bass is a 2005 Model and weighs in about 9-9.5LBs. I will weigh it on a scale as soon as I can for proper weight. It is balance PERFECT. the neck is perfect and body shows no signs of wear. the only wear on the is bass is on the pickguard from the previous owner who used a pick. Purely cosmetic and a new one from wd music (http://www.wdmusic.com/) is $28 + 25% for lefty. I hear you can order direct from Ernie Ball for $22 but have not confirmed this yet. The original Musicman case is included in the sale and also in good shape with only a few scratched on the outer shell. If you know about Ernie Ball MM basses, you will know that they introduced a proprietary nut called the compensation nut. It is ugly and fat. I have never had an issue with intonation with the standard nuts but whatever... Its their thing. This bass has the original nut and was the last year they used the original in 2005. 2006 the compensation nut was introduced. I bought a MM SR5 in 2006 and was disappointed in the quality, lightweight body and compensation nut. I sold it shortly after. I guess the older SR's seem to be better from what i have read. Anyway, here is my bass for sale. I would like to get $850 + actual shipping (I have a FedEX Account) to Lower48 US Preferred. I will also include a new set of strings. NOTE: This is not a board member, "jeware" bass. Totally different bass.

The love affair with the Stingray over already Jim?

Great looking bass. The classic Stingray look.

Heck no.. I love this bass.... Just have something else I am interested in and don't have all the funding to get it right now.... One needs to go quickly and I was going back and forth on this or my Fender Jazz. I decided to keep the Jazz for many reasons..... This bass kicks ass!

Out of the two I would sell the Stingray too. Simply because I feel like the consistency of Musicman basses is higher than Fenders. When you're ready to replace the sold bass, I believe finding another good Stingray will be easier than finding another good Jazz.

BTW, what bass are you after that you're selling gear to acquire it?

That's a damn good deal on a SR4 in that condition! I have too many houses at the moment or I'd be all over that.

Did you finally decide to buy a house just to hold your bass collection? ;)

No sir... It's a hobby. I buy, set-up, fix, play, resell. I have something else in mind and for fretted basses, pretty much play the 5 stringers. 4 is lacking the low B that I use ALL the time. this is a really nice bass tho. I think Frenchy Lefty needs another one to backup his white one. ;)

Arrrggghhhh!
If I wasn't already committed to the Leftybird project we would be talking. Oh well.
Good luck on the sale!

I should probably hold out for a 5 string anyway.

That is a smokin deal as the natural finish is about a $150 upgrade from Ernie Ball. I would be all over this but have bought two Stingrays already this year and don't want to get divorced!

Crabby, can you please confirm where you got this $150 upgrade info? I would be interested as I didn't know the clear was an upgrade but makes sense since they have to use a better grain piece of ash. This one is very nice! Thanks
