Hey all-

New to the site, and digging it!!!

I have the above bass for sale. It is currently strung righty, but have the original brass nut for it. This bass, like a lot of the MVPs, is definitely a player's bass, and has been my main road bass since '06. It has it's share of chips and worn spots, but plays like a dream. Has an Aguilar OBP-3 pre, original Bart with J/J pup configuration. Selling because I'm using Fender 4's for everything, and it's just sitting around. Because of the wear on the bass, and because it's missing it's bass and mid knobs, I'm letting it go at a steal for $650.00 obo + shipping. It also has the hard to find truss rod tool, and instruction booklet. Will post current pics when I get back into town on Monday, 6/28. Will ship in a gig bag, packed securely. Would also consider trading for an early to late 70's lefty Jazz, Tele or P neck, maple or rosewood considered. Fender trades (no MIM) considered!

You can see a small pic at Arni's site leftybass.com, about half way thru the secondhand pages, the listing dates being 2005/2006, about half way up the page. It has a "sold" through it, but it will give you a genreal idea until I get back!

Thanks!

If this is the bass you're talking about, it used to be mine! Is "LeftyFenderNut" a guy named David (if I remember correctly) in Nashville? Great to see you here and welcome! :D

I can vouch for the solid nature of the bass as of 2005-ish, and it is certainly a player's bass. I am more of a stingray guy though, and I never felt "right" with this bass. But if you're a Pedulla person (I know you guys are dedicated!), then this would be a great bass that you wouldn't need to baby. At this price, I have half a mind to buy it and give it another go myself.

Hey Josh! How's it going?

This is indeed Dave. Great to hear from you. Thanks for the info above. I know I'll miss this bass, but don
t want it just sitting around doing nothing! I know just as soon as it's gone, I'll need it for a session. You watch

Anyway, just letting all who are waiting on pics know that I am working on it right now, and hope to have them up within an hour or two, maybe sooner. Thanks for being patient!

OK, got a few pics of the Pedulla. Sorry for the wait! These were taken with my iphone, so the quality isn't the best, but you'll get the idea. Only problem is, they are too big to put up on here. Any ideas on how to make them fit? I'm new to the whole photoshop thing.

Thanks in advance!

Dave

In the meantime, pm me, and I'll shoot you the pics I have.

I think the 1990 Pedulla was a series II and 3 digit serial number (something of the sort...). This has a 4 digit serial number so its most likely a 1992ish. Please don't quote me as I am going off of memory here but think its correct.

Good luck with your sale tho. Pedulla's are very nice basses. I love em!

Hey Gravesbass, thanks for the help! Dang it, bass players ARE cool!!! :D

As I wrote previously, it's a PLAYER'S bass. It's a sound bass that sounds great. Structurally, it's in great shape.

There are some discrepancies on dating from the earlier Pedullas. Disregard my comment on the serial dating. It appears this seller did contact the main woman @ Pedulla (her name passes me right now) but if she says its a 90, its a 90. She helped me date 2 of my Pedulla's and was VERY helpful. They are a very small company of like 2 or 3. Wish I could remember her name. If you want an older Pedulla, snag it!

Is her name Kristin? I seem to remember that name. She is the best.

When I originally listed this bass years ago and eventually sold to Dave, I did speak with Pedulla and they clarified the 1990 date. Dave, looks like you've added some buckle rash! That 'Ray I got from you had some tasty buckle scars too- you're a man who loves his belts! :D

Indeed!

Actually, that's NOT belt rash. It's where the paint is cracking/flaking, probably from being in different climates since I've had it. Man, it's been everywhere. The paint seems to be thin on this bass, which to me gives it a much more open tone. I personally dig the Mojo this bass has, and as the previous owner, you know how fat it sounds!

I know people out there who see the pics are a bit iffy concerning the cosmetic condition of this bass, but I promise you that it's a tight, great playing bass. Because of the reactions I've received, I'll drop the price to 550.00 + shipping. That's as low as I can possibly go on this, and if it doesn't sell, will keep it. that's $550 for an older PEDULLA MVP 5!!! BTW, when speaking with Kristin over at Pedulla, when she checked her records, she told me that this bass (1990) was built the year they began using reinforcement bars in their necks, and that this bass definitely has them.

Thanks again for everyone's help and input when listing this. You guys/gals are the best!

That's insane.

Don't give it away. At the end of the day it's still a Pedulla that plays and sounds right.

It is indeed insane, but someone should take advantage of my insanity!!!

The buyer could ship it to Pedulla, have it re-painted so it's nice and shiny, have it set up by Michael, and he/she would STILL be ahead!
