Up for sale is my beautiful Roscoe LG3006 Bass. It has had several mods from Keith at Roscoe Guitars. 1 mod was the thinning of the neck. Its now as thin as an MTD bass.... KILLER and comfortable. The second upgrade is the Bart Preamp to Aguilar OBP-3. It gets much more aggressive. The nut is a hand carved estate ivory bone nut ($150 upcharge) and body is Mahogany (Fat, Warm, Punchy) and a very beautiful Quilt/Burl Maple Top. The fingerboard is Pau Ferro and VERY streaked. Roscoe Bartolini Pickups and the bass is average under 10LBs. Included form fitted left handed Roscoe Case. 9.9.7/10 condition. There is a small round wound string indention in between the E string of the 2nd/3rd fret. it is not deep and does not effect playing. Frets are still mint and nickel roundwounds were always used. Neck is PERFECTLY straight and ultra low action.

Retail is $4,999.00 before Lefty upcharge of $175.00, recent custom neck shaving and Aguilar Preamp upgrade bumps it up $275 = 5449.00 (+ ship). Take normal street 25% off that and its $4,086.75 NEW. My used price is a very reasonable price as the Roscoe basses hold their value. It was built 2 years ago.

$2650 insured to CONUS Lower 48 ONLY!!

Thanks for Looking!

It's real easy to play Phillipé.... Just think 4 strings in the center and work around with 1 string on either side. I swear I thought I heard it call your name "Phillipé" :D

Yeah, I'm a 4-stringer, too. I'm just going to stare at these pics until it's sold. Wow! :P

Thanks for the offer but at this point I do not think I want to part with it for a trade situation. I LOVE this bass to death but it does not get enough play time and well.... I am looking to thin the herd to players I play on a daily basis. I strung one of my 5 stringers E-C to see if I could get away with my 6 string love on a 5er. Not the same. :? It will go on the evil bay soon if not sold locally. I am not going to give it away tho. Keith Roscoe and gang build some of the BEST instruments period.

understand! thats the only way i would get rid of the skb 3006 would be to trade for a lg3006 - it is an incredible bass -
btw - that is how I have my LG3006 strung - E to C - I totally dig that setup - but it is my lyrical/soloing centered axe....
and i always run an 8ve pedal when i need more rumble...
good luck with the sale!
somebody should grab this, especially if they have never tried a roscoe - they really do rule.

Hey Graves,

Man do you have great taste in basses! That is one sweet axe. If I was getting paid what I'm supposed to be I would take that off your hands.

Good luck with the sale. :)

I am lately in contemplation mode on even selling this bass. I can't do ebay until I get back from my tour so if someone is seriously interested, best to act quick. I'l be around in and out of town for 3 weeks then gone until early/mid August. I have had several interesting parties here on the leftybassist board but I dont have time to get sound samples right now and if your really interested in a Roscoe, you should definitely go find a shop that carries them and play it upside down. They have a tone of their own.

If you can get a Yellowjackets Live concert DVD with Jimmy Haslip, listen to his tone and solo. It sounds very near that tone but can get much more aggressive too since its got the Aguilar OBP-3 preamp :D

Here are a few links of how wonderful the Roscoe's sound. It sounds close to this tone but again can get a LOT more aggressive when cranking the MID's. Jimmy likes clean for his soloing.

Isn't this the same bass?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ROSCOE-LEFTY-6-BASS ... ?pt=Guitar

I noticed it was up on The Low End for like 4 or 5 days before it was listed as sold there... and now today I see this listing.

I wonder if this guy got a great deal on it and is trying to profit from it or if he didn't like it and the Low End wouldn't take it back???

Crazy...

I traded my Roscoe to a builder in Georgia that has connections with Brian @ The Low End. Brian I believe sold it for $2200. This seller is trying to make some $$$. I should have just sold it outright but left for a 16 day tour and wanted it done before I left. I am having a new bass built hence the reason I got rid of the Roscoe fast. It was part of the closing deal and painless for me.
