Try finding a used Kydd or Big Kydd. I had a Big Kydd that I had converted to lefty (new nut, fingerboard level and side dots). It was great, and all in all very affordable. It's a fully passive instrument, so I used it with a Fishman Pro-EQ Platinum Bass which sounded great!

I just can't understand in this day and age of machinery and inventory control that they could not do this. I often struggle on how Fender can have 50 different version of Strats in 15 different colors and options but only have 3 for Lefties.

I would think in every boardroom when the question is asked how can we improve sales by 10% the option to offer all models to Lefties is beyond me. Again now a days the machines can make them and inventory control processes are in place.

I spoke to my luthier about this and he thinks it'll be easy enough to convert to lefty, so I ordered one.
Don't know how long it'll take to get it, but I'll report back.

Looking forward to your eventual review!

String reversal looks easy. However, controls will remain on the wrong side? Weird, because some fret position markers appear on the board toward the side facing a lefty player, while there are traditional edge dots on the righty side of the board.

Looking at it, it could so easily have been an essentially symmetrical design. Given the way its meant to be played up on a stand, the controls could have been central below the bridge. Only difference between left and right handed could have been the string order! ...and a reverse lefty like me would just stand on the other side of a right handed one - duh!

That's where monorail bridge parts come into their own - when the body has a curved top.

True. I wonder if the monorail bridge sections need repositioning though, as they're compensated for righty stringing. I kinda like it, but in this video it just sounds like a fretless bass guitar to me, not really upright-like.
