 Post subject: DR Neon Strings

So, I put some of these strings on one of my basses. They play and sound fine - the coating is a wee bit different, but not too bad.
Anyway, at a gig on Friday night, I did the requisite bass player slide on the G string and it burned my finger! It hurt like hell!
I've never ever had that happen to me before. You?

I've had that happen too, but being a carpenter, I've worn my pads down, mostly from tile jobs, to the point that the nerves will get exposed... has always happened to just my right hand index finger. If it feels too raw, I'll sometimes toughen it up by brushing on "Liquid Bandage", which is a medical version of super glue....
