I just heard on the radio that he past last night. I understand that he was not known as a Bass Player, but still very sad news!

Very sad, and latest reports indicate it was probably suicide.

I consider him one of the greatest rock vocalists of all time.

Badmotorfinger was one of a small number of albums that I just listened to over and over again when I discovered it (and still occasionally do). Then two great follow up albums (I need to get a copy of their last one). Then Audioslave and solo stuff.... Unique but accessible. Powerful but subtle. Maybe he didn't have a big an influence on rock and roll as did some of his contemporaries, but he and Soundgarden did their share of building on what came before them.

Forgive me for trying to wax eloquent. I liked him a lot and I didn't think he was one of the ones we were going to lose early.

Time to load up today's playlist....

Another loss of such a great artist due to depression. He apparently was found with a strap around his neck (hung himself..?) in his hotel room after the gig in Detroit last night. I saw some video of the gig. He looked a little off in the videos.

Sad loss to a talented vocalist/guitarist and very blessed to have seen him so many times ion his projects. he will be missed.

Depression is a bitch, man. It can get where it's so hard to not do something awful to yourself. I feel so sad for him and his loved ones.

Totally stunned- as Tim said, he always seemed like the survivor, as many of his friends sadly departed around him..

So sad, after speaking to a bud last night we realized not many singers from that era survived.
