Chris Wolstenholme (bass player for Muse) has my dream tone. According to my research, the real trick to his tone is running two effects lines using the same signal from his bass simultaneously. The first line produces a tone similar to my setup- a tight distorted compressed bottom- kinda spaceship-y . The second line involves the ever elusive Animato <3- a distortion Peddal with boosted highs. Does anyone know where I can find
A. A real Animato (preferably near a $400 budget)
B. A REALLY good Animato clone
C. A good distortion with atleast a 3 band eq that might be cape able of accomplishing a similar tone

??????? Help me my left-handed brethren!

How do some pedal makers justify their prices? I bet that casing is almost empty. What on earth makes this a 400 euro pedal? :|

I have an Animato clone I'd sell, a Crowella Effects Animated. PM me if you're interested.

Can you provide an example of this tone?

I doubt I can help, but I am curious. I got pretty close to my dream tone, too, and it is a stereo setup as well.

I never really "got" what a Rick is capable of until I ran it stereo a few times in my college band. We used to call it the "Piano of Doom". You get all the bottom and all the top in total a**kicking mode.
