Old finish was removed first. New black coating turned out pretty nice, but the new paint is a bit soft. Some signs of usage are already visible.

Hi folks! I've been lurking for awhile. I'm pretty new to bass; have been using a borrowed Ibanez fretless for a few months and am presently looking for an axe to call my own. I've played guitar for many years and studied music in college, but for whatever reasons I've not taken the step to bass until now. I tinker with glitchy/noisy/dubby gadget music mostly.

Anyway, I'm glad I found this forum. Howdy!

Hey everyone. My name is Matt. I'm completely new to bass forums but I've been playing lefty guitar for 10 years, bass off and on for 7 (mostly off). I recently joined a band where I am relegated to the bass role and it feels good although I have no skillz. But just wanted to post and say a quick hello.

Matt, you know me and I know you so I'm NOT gonna say hi ;) -- well ok...HI! and a new band? no more Aprior I?

wait till you see what the UPS guy is bringing me next week, 2 lefty units sooooo cheap I couldn't say no.

I should be using one of the 2 units for our show Nov 12th at the Bloomfield Bridge Tavern, and if not then, for sure at our show at ECK's lounge on Dec 18th. I am glad you joined up here, cause there are plenty of people here who also play guitar daily :):)

A Prior I is still around. We're recording an album right now home studio style. So I'm in two bands now. But I broke my leg labor day weekend so I haven't been doing too much with either band. It's still not healed up!! I may be able to walk on it again as soon as the 12th, but nothing's set in stone. You get some more Charvels eh?

sorry to hear that. I know how long it does take as I broke my leg and ankle and it was months till I was back to normal, and have screws and a plate still in the ankle and leg for the rest of my life...

and nope, no more charvels this time. I already have 2 of the only lefty model they made and that's enough. I'm slowly selling off the rightys for lefty whatevers, but will always keep the rare jacksons in the house, all the spares and duplicates will eventually be gone. the one is an ibanez gsr200 flametop/active, and the other is a series10 p/JJ/passive to match my series10 SSH guitar, same color, same headstock shapes :) nothing special in any way. I'm not worried as long as the things play as I have a large parts bin for hardware + electronics...when I get them I'll post pics in a thread for sure....

Dude, I've got a rod inside my tibia running the whole length of it with 2 pins holding it at the top and 2 at the bottom, then I got 3 pins in my fibula, and I think one more pin in the ankle. How'd you break yours? Motorcycle?

mine is not a rod it is a flat piece of metal on the outside of the fibula bone up the side of the leg with 7 screws, and 4 screws in the anklebone, and no not a motorcycle, I did it wrestling my roomate while drunk --- I slipped and fell the wrong way.

Your story inspired me to look for wrestling gifs and I found this. I thought it was appropriate to depict the horror.

actually the bone never came thru the skin a nice clean fixable break :)

the pain didn't even start until I moved my foot a way it normally won't move then oh ya it hurt and we called 911 quick ---

but enough pain-horror stories, cause the pain from that was nowhere near the pain of my L21 disc rupturing ( towards the inside on the nerve bundle and I couldn't move ), or my kidneystones in BOTH sides pain...naw....

back to the normal posting ok?
