Post subject:  Blast from the past...

I'm moving across the country (again) and cleaning out the garage (again), and came across the email communication from when I bought the bass pictured here on eBay...
Auction ended 10/19/2000, seller was none other than Mr. PJMuck...
If you were one of the 7 people I outbid for this bass, I hope you find solace in the fact that you lost to someone who is still playing this bass regularly to this day. ;)

That's lovely! To me, cherry sunburst is one of the classic Stingray finishes. Always looks great, with any fingerboard wood and with a black, white, tort or even pearloid pickguard (and I hate pearloid pickguards! Always makes me think of milk with icecubes. Yuck! :P).

Great to hear you've been getting on so well on that bass for so long. So many of us quickly buy and sell new instruments and don't stick with one main bass for a long time. It's so nice when you find that one bass that just suits you and gets played often. To me personally it has taken quite some time and a lot of buying and selling to find 'that bass', and I'm still regularly buying new stuff because a different instrument inspires me to play differently or because it may suit a specific need at that particular moment but there are 3 main basses I mostly stick to when rehearsing, gigging and recording :)

Ah, memories. :) I was actually listening to my old band's CD recorded in '99 just the other day (This Island Earth - Welcome to the Merry-Go-Round. Buy it and forever change your life.;)) and thinking how great that bass sat in the mix on the tracks I used it on. (As opposed to 99% of all pro studio recordings I have of myself where producers always seemed to love burying my tracks. ). Great definition and clarity with some balls. So glad to hear that it ended up in the right hands and it's still in action.
